Bi-Bett Wins State Funding Award

Bi-Bett Wins State Funding Award

Bi-Bett is pleased to announce that the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has awarded Bi-Bett grant funding under the Behavioral Health Infrastructure Bond Act of 2024: Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP). Through BHCIP funding, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) plans to award up to $3.3 billion statewide to eligible organizations whose projects reflect the state’s priorities and serve the targeted populations.

Bi-Bett’s award, totaling over $900,000, will allow for the remediation of a critical Women’s Residential Treatment Center in Concord. The Frederic Ozanam Center, affectionately known as “Oz,” is now a 16-bed facility that provides addiction treatment, detoxification management, and perinatal services. Bi-Bett will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 16 at 10am to celebrate the re-opening of the “Emerald City” building at Oz. Bibett Wins State Funding Award

“This grant award allows Bi-Bett to expand its services, as well as to utilize the funds that would have been spent on remediating Emerald City into other critical areas within the organization,” noted CEO Devan Cross. “We have so many needs, and we are truly grateful to DHCS for this award and to the voters of California for making the largest behavioral health investment the country has ever seen. The staff is ecstatic about these improvements and how they can expand the care they deliver to even more deserving women.”

Bibett Wins State Funding AwardBi-Bett extends its gratitude to Anthony Chavez, Tony Chavez and the crew at East Bay Design Builders, as well as Mattson Plumbing and Foundation Repair of California, for their hard work in bringing Emerald City back to life. Bi-Bett also thanks Sammy D’Ambrosio and California Consulting for their expertise in navigating a very demanding grant submission process. Bi-Bett is also appreciative of Fatima Matal Sol and the Contra Costa Health team for their unwavering support. Without our partners, none of this would happen.

Bi-Bett Corporation was established in 1969 to provide supportive, quality substance-use disorder treatment services to those suffering from the negative effects of alcoholism and drug addiction. For over 50 years, we have pursued a mission of providing high-quality addiction treatment services to underserved populations, including those who are Medi-Cal-eligible, unhoused, veterans, and experience co-occurring disorders. Our programs help disadvantaged men, women and children to reconnect with families and achieve economic independence by developing the coping skills necessary to discover a new life without drugs or alcohol. We currently operate six residential treatment centers and six sober living environments across the San Francisco Bay Area, serving over 1,700 clients annually.
