Outpatient programs are good choice for people that are medically stable enough to attend weekly group counseling sessions from 1 to 3 times per week. These tend to be good options for patients that are engaging in vocational activities such as school and work and can be conveniently attended after business hours in most cases. The overall length of time that one attends depends on their level of functioning and how well they stabilize over time. Our trained counselors work with our patients to deliver evidence-based content, help them develop and practice new coping skills and help them identify relapse prevention plans, to name a few of the activities. It is not out of the ordinary for a patient to enter outpatient treatment after they have completed a higher level of care such as Residential treatment, in fact – it’s known as a good practice to engage in the entire continuum of care if needed. Outpatient programs are available in Solano, Contra Costa & Alameda counties and are offered at convenient times to prevent interruption of work and/or school schedules.
